Seminar Ashihara Karate Zuidlaren 11th,-13th of July 2008

All attendantsMany activities are planned in the month of July and one of theme is the yearly seminar in the village of Zuidlaren, northern part of Holland and hometown of Dave Jonkers and Sem Schilt.

Albert Braun Sensei arranged the administrative site of the seminar and nearly 40 participants, also from Georgia, Poland and Germany, started the seminar on Friday evening with the first session. Divers combination where drilled by Sensei Albert in one hour.Blackbelts present at the seminar

Next day Saturday  had 6 trainings sessions with different themes from Ashihara. As guest instructor Stephen Tapilatu, well-known for his explosive kicks, showed several “secret”weapons, using elastic legs.

Tapilatu, an allround Martial Artist with two World titles Tae Kwon Do, Vice world champion DaiDoJuku and a lot of experiences in MMA  showed the sidekicks, turning kicks and impressed the Ashihara karateka during this session.

Sem Schilt and Rene StichterIn the evening a outdoortraining was planned and this was combined with Chinese food and a little party in the backyard.

Next morning on Sunday two sessions where done by two pioneers in Ashihara ;  Sensei Joop Schell and Sensei Cor van den Adel. Old school karate with spirit.

The last training before grading was done by foreign instructors, Dariusz Winiarski from Poland and Shihan Leonardo Voinescu from Sei Budokai Germany.

Sensei Winiarski was promoted to Nidan because of ten years experience in our organisation and the fact of developing Ashihara in Poland. Next to this he is very active in attending many tournaments abroad, all with success.

Sem, Cor, Jan, ReneThe last part was the grading of kyu-grades in which two students past for their first kyu after the 25 men kumite.

The seminar was as years before, a success with satisfied members an affiliated participants.
